PROTOTYPES

Prototypes focuses on unlocking idle potential through upcycling and repurposing rather than creating new garments. Their sustainable approach is embodied in three interwoven lines, with the core offering being the Second Life Line, which utilizes deadstock fabrics and garments to create unique clothing pieces. For instance, nine football scarves can be transformed into a jumpsuit or a tablecloth into a dress.

To empower DIY enthusiasts, Prototypes offers Proto Packs that include manuals and sewing patterns, allowing anyone to replicate styles from the Second Life Line. These packs come in various difficulty levels, making it easy to create items like hoodies from old sweatpants. Proto Prints, which are transfer prints that can be ironed onto existing garments, offer another simple way to customize clothing.

The founders met while working in Zurich and launched the initiative in January 2021, with products available online and in select stores by October 16, 2021. Prototypes aims to encourage individual expression and sustainability, providing a hands-on experience of their concept during the launch.
