Toby Vernon began making jewellery during the first lockdown in his hometown of Lewes, East Sussex, discovering the lost-wax technique and developing a fascination with raw, organic forms. Preferring visible imperfections, he leaves each piece unpolished to reveal traces of the human hand. A Westminster Fashion Design graduate, Toby’s unconventional background shapes The Ouze’s distinctive style, blending fashion sensibility with experimental craftsmanship. Inspired by antique and heirloom jewellery, his work captures timeless beauty through history, tradition, and the marks of time.
